Welcome to the Rihla 2007 Blog! Use this blog to check up on whats happening with this year's Rihla, or use it as a forum to connect with other participants. Check back often for updates!
I look forward to meeting all of you. I am curious if there is anyone living in the SF bay area that is going on this trip? If so, I would welcome the opportunity to meet before we depart.
I am really excited to meet people from all over the world that will be coming on this sacred trip. I live in the Bay Area and I wonder how many other people in this area are coming.
I'm so much looking forward to the trip. And I'm also not looking so much forward to the heat. Therefor I would like to buy some sun-blocking umbrella with UV filter. But such things are practically not possible to buy in cold Norway.
Are there anyone living in places where they easily can buy such umbrellas for my wife and me?
Plese contact me on athar [at] muslimphotos.net if someone can help us out :)
Insha'Allah you are all well. I'm also looking forward to the Rihla. I understand that some of you were on the Rihla last year so I was wondering if you could offer some advice as to what we should bring with us, how much money or any inside info at all. Jazak'Allah Khair Ramy - Canada
I agree with the comment just posted by Ramy. And, also if you were on the trip before and have performed Umrah or Hajj before do you have any suggestions of how to prepare yourself spiritually (reading, fasting, etc) before departing on this trip? Jazak.
Salaams- Are there any members that plan on arriving in New York a day or two before the departure date? If so, please respond, maybe we can go ahead and talk about it...
Salams Brothers, Any brothers leaving from LONDON U.K. let me know where you are travelling from to get to the airport as i will be arranging some shared transport, 7 seater etc.. email: adam_mani@yahoo.com

I pray you are all well and inshAllah we get to meet again.
We need to stand in saintly places the way our body needs food to not topple over
We need to go there and find nearness there even just a rude rock-strewn place where something
saintly took place or is taking place tombs in giant sepulchers or a rude
rock-strewn place you can feel under your feet or at the base of the heart the
non-physical saintliness of a real person in whom God was by that person’s pleasing pleased
and stand there in its crystal waters rushing past our ears and bathing our limbs the way
careful mothers of all creatures bathe their young in the same way really we need to
find and stand in saintly places in this world or stand with saintly ones and
stand with them for a time or for all time and once found not ever leave their sainted precincts
in time or out of time but stand with them
in their saintly places or those who have gone before whose places are still
palpably alive the way even other live places are not but these places are refuges and
refueling places not known anywhere else on earth or with any other practitioners
and to stand in the bounty of a saintly place is indescribable but evident if not then
then now in its great effect and the continuous affect it has on us to
stand just once or have stood for even a small time in space
in saintly places
========================================== -i think, hope, that we all miss the saintly places. i loved meeting all of you and inshaAllah, if we do not meet in the Rawdah of Rasulallah (S), we will meet in the meadows of Paradise. JazakAllah khair to everyone and please forgive me if I offended any of you in anyway
